2012 issued on 180g LP+download- After gently sparkling debut Applause comes Belgian Balthazar with the highly anticipated sequel, Rats. After the critical acclaim of the single The Oldest Of Sisters, which has a bit of spaghetti western agreements, it is clear that Balthazar has evolved after their first album. The album features very accessible pop songs and later and Sinking Ship hear. But do when The Man Who Owns The Place also comparisons with Isbells and Absynthe Minded itself felt. Electronics and indie pop and rock with a touch of folk and sophisticated harmonies.
Lively rhythms with tightly elaborate harmonies combined with a seductive vocals. All this combined to create a wonderful swinging groove, whereby it should be noted that Rats still happens fairly intimate. This is mainly caused by a wonderful slow beat groove, produced by Danger Mouse. A unique and distinctive sound. Balthazar with Rats, add another that we can in the line of Flemish bands.
