Release date: 29-09-2005 The hugely anticipated follow-up to the Mercury Music Prize award-winning 'Franz Ferdinand' recorded in Scotland and New York and including the stomping singles 'Do YouWant To?' & 'Walk Away', picture sleeve. It’s easy to hate bands after they’ve gained commercial success. What proud hipster would claim allegiance to a band after its songs have been in commercial after commercial? Or after a Web page gushed about how great the debut was? Or after the Abercrombie & Fitch crowd starts reciting the lyrics in between sips of soy lattes? But we like to think it’s just a quality Scottish band with the ability to write great pop songs. Barely taking a breath to recover from a staggering debut that sent them spinning around the world, the Scottish post-punk revolutionaries return with a second album of whip-smart guitar hooks, indie dance beats and wry party-scene reports. Much the way their big hit 'Take Me Out' captured the urgency of any given Friday night, this one's got instant party-starters like 'Do You Want To' and 'The Fallen.' It's not all breakneck power-pop glamour, though. There are moments of genuine contemplation in 'Fade Together' and 'Eleanor Put Your Boots On.' The balance works well for the guys, making Better simply great. Tracks: 01. The Fallen 02. Do You Want To 03. This Boy 04. Walk Away 05. Evil And A Heathen 06. You're The Reason I'm Leaving 07. Eleanor Put Your Boots On 08. Well That Was Easy 09. What You Meant 10. I'm Your Villian 11. You Could Have It So Much Better 12. Fade Together 13. Outsiders
