Striking throughout the album are the guitar sounds of guitarist Johnny Marr, former member of the influential rock band The Smiths from the eighties. Marr was responsible for a large part of the compositions (in the guitar style of Marr). The song "Non, je ne regrette rien" by the French singer Édith Piaf can often be heard in the film.
