2014 EU reissue on 180g LP  -The 1974 debut album by Kiss features material mostly written by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley as members of their previous band Wicked Lester. The album took only 2 or 3 weeks to record and mix. The debut album was recorded at Bell Sound Studios in New York City.

Following a party held by Casablanca Records (distributed by Warner Bros. Records), to introduce the record company to the press, where Kiss performed in full costume, Kiss was asked by Warner Bros. to remove their make up or they would end their deal with Casablanca. With manager Bill Aucoin's support, the band refused. Shortly after the release of the album "Kiss", Warner Bros. released Casablanca from their contract.

"Kiss' 1974 self-titled debut is one of hard rock's all-time classic studio recordings. Kiss is chock full of their best and most renowned compositions, containing elements of Rolling Stones/New York Dolls party-hearty rock & roll, Beatles tunefulness, and Sabbath/Zep heavy metal, and wisely recorded primal and raw...Along with 1976's Destroyer, Kiss' self-titled debut is their finest studio album, and has only improved over the years." -Greg Prato, allmusic.com- includes a voucher to download an MP3 version of the album.
