Released in 1976 this album of music for jazz orchestra features some of the biggest names in British jazz; Ian Carr, Tony Coe, Barbara Thompson and Paul Buckmaster, The music has an air of spontaneity and excitement as the principles have room to make their individual mark but in the context of some very attractive and highly melodic musical themes. The music has a great deal of variety of mood, texture and rhythm - sometimes the pieces are calm and reflective -at others more intense and rock focused and from time to time more than a funky bass line make their presence felt.
