After the four year whirlwind that resulted from the release of their 1987 debut album Appetite For Destruction, Guns N' Roses returned in September of 1991 with not one, but two new double albums. In addition to the epic 9-minute centerpiece, "November Rain," Use Your Illusion I's 16-tracks include the all-time classic "Don’t Cry," "The Garden" featuring a guest appearance from Alice Cooper and a cover of Wings’ James Bond classic, "Live And Let Die."

Use Your Illusion I debuted at #2 in the U.S. and is now certified seven times platinum, ironically kept off the top spot by its companion release, Use Your Illusion II. Axl Rose was joined here by Dizzy Reed on keyboards, former Cult drummer Matt Sorum who replaces Steven Adler, as well as original members Slash, Duff McKagan and Izzy Stradlin, who was to leave shortly after the album's release.
