2019 EU remastered on 180g LP- Never satisfied with the ordinary, a few years ago Baba Sissoko began his personal, outstanding musical journey in Bamako, Mali. He bore the legacy of a legendary dynasty of Malian griots, broke all boundaries and became the first ever painter ever to win the outstanding Obaland Awards for Best African Jazz Musician of 2018! His greatest fortune came several years ago when he found out that his first-born, Djana Sissoko, a young and super-talented 18-year-old girl, decided to follow and accompany him on the mission, bringing his significant message of peace and joy to the world also carry. Baba is constantly exploring new sounds, transforming his traditional ngoni electronically into one of the wildest lead instruments to be heard in the music world for years. With his arsenal of hand-crafted instruments, he embarks on a mystical path followed like a comet's tail by Djane's glittering, soulful vocals, where Bambara, of course, mixes with English and French. For this album Max Weissefeldt (Poets of Rhythm, Whitefield Brothers, Dr John, Guy One) sat on the drums and provided the high-life beats that brought the plates to heaven.
