2016 EU reissue on 180g 2LP-Diana's twelfth album Quiet Nights, inspired by a 2007 trip to Brazil and originally issued in 2009, is an intimate recording of ballads and bossa nova numbers from the same team that brought you her best-selling Grammy Award-winning 2001 album The Look of Love. Accompanied by her quartet and tasteful orchestration, Diana offers up her sensual vocals and consummate piano skills on a collection of tunes that includes "The Boy from Ipanema," "Walk on By," a stunning rendition of the Bee Gee's "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" and the standard "Every Time We Say Goodbye" among others. Krall and company's interpretation of the Antonio Carlos Jobin title track, one of three cuts by the bossa nova giant appearing here, earned legendary arranger Claus Ogerman a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s). Produced by Tommy LiPuma and Diana Krall.

By any standard this five-time Grammy winning jazz pianist and vocalist is one of the most accomplished and distinctive musicians in the world today. Respected far and wide as a wildly successful recording and performing artist, Diana Krall remains a true musical force. At any given moment she could be producing Barbra Streisand's new album, serving as musical director and arranger for Paul McCartney or hitting the road for a good cause with Neil Young. As the record shows, she has already done all that and much more. Along the way Krall has sold more albums than any other female jazz artist of the last 30 years, establishing herself as one of the best-selling and most beloved performers of her generation, one whose recordings thus far have earned her nine gold, three platinum and seven multi-platinum albums.
