You fell from the sky, crash-landed in a field near the River Adur. Skeleton Tree opens with a heartbreaking line that Nick Cave never wanted to sing. We all know the story; the phrase refers to his fifteen-year-old son Arthur, who fell off a high cliff on July 14, 2015. . .The blues, the elementary foundation of his entire oeuvre. But the blues and personal drama is certainly not one-two for Nick Cave. In fact, the recent suffering caused him an artistic crisis, as the film One More Time With Feeling – shown around the release of Skeleton Tree – shows.
