2018 EU reissue  vinyl LP- remastered from the original analog master tapes by Chris Bellman.The first record Eric Clapton cut after becoming sober and first for his own Duck Records imprint, Money and Cigarettes remains an important statement of purpose in his peerless career. Not only does he revisit his blues roots with covers of Sleepy John Estes' "Everybody Oughta Make a Change," Albert King's "Crosscut Saw," and Johnny Otis' "Crazy Country Hop," he rounded out his band with a team of legends that counted Stax Records veteran bassist Donald "Duck" Dunn and Muscle Shoals drummer Roger Hawkins, as well as virtuosic guitarist Ry Cooder, among the participants. With such a phenomenal lineup, and Clapton re-inspired, it's impossible to go wrong with this 1983 classic.

Money and Cigarettes marked several important turning points in Eric Clapton's recording career: his debut release on his own Duck imprint; the first album he made after giving up drinking; and marked his working with new players (with the exception of second guitarist Albert Lee)  including
Stax Records veteran bassist Donald "Duck" Dunn and Muscle Shoals drummer Roger Hawkins, also bringing in guest guitarist Ry Cooder.
