After a decade of wide-ranging experimentation Björk bridged the gap and brought the beats back on her sixth full-length, Volta. Heavy on full-bodied tribal rhythms, driving horns and found-sounds, the electrifying 10-track set includes guest appearances by producer Timbaland, vocalist Antony Hegarty (Antony and the Johnsons) and longtime programmer Mark Bell. Contains the singles "Earth Intruders," "Innocence" and "Declare Independence."

"I knew from the start I wanted the album to be bloody, physical and urgent. But then trying to work out how you do it is sometimes like solving a murder mystery thing. But that's so fun. I love solving riddles. So this one got solved with the use of either tribal live drumming or 808s, 909s, the old-school drum machine noises. Or the mix of all those. The rhythms were actually some of the last things we worked on. The melodies, clavichord, the pipa and kora and all the brass came first." - Björk

In celebration of Björk’s mid-career retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the release of the Björk: Archives book, One Little Indian is reissuing the Icelandic artist's back catalog on vinyl including Debut (1993), Post (1995), Homogenic (1997), Vespertine (2001), Medulla (2004), Volta (2007) and Biophilia (2011).
