2012 EU reissue on 180g vinyl LP-1996's Sackcloth 'n' Ashes is the official debut full-length release from the Denver, CO alt-country group Sixteen Horsepower led by singer/multi-instrumentalist David Eugene Edwards. Boasting a unique 'Gothic Americana' sound built around antique instruments like banjo, accordion, lap steel and stand-up bass and featuring fire and brimstone themed songs, the Warren Bruleigh (Violent Femmes) produced Sackcloth 'n' Ashes is a powerful and chilling affair. Joining Edwards here are drummer Jean-Yves Tola, bassist Keven Soll and guest musician and fiddle player Gordon Gano on fourteen commanding tracks including one of the group's most heralded songs, "Black Soul Choir." Appearing on vinyl for the very first time courtesy of Music On Vinyl.
